A MAN was in critical condition in a specialist neurological unit after an apparent fight.
Police arrived at the scene on Station Road, Chingford, at 2.30am on Saturday (August 16) after receiving a call about a man suffering from serious head injuries.
The victim had reportedly been involved in a violent altercation and three males were seen leaving the scne on foot in the direction of Kings Head Hill.
Two ambulance crews also attended and the man, believed to be in his mid-30s or early 40s, was initially taken to Whipps Cross but was later transferred to the specialist unit, where he remains in critical condition.
A spokeswoman for the police said investigators are keeping an open about a motive.
