Billericay 179-1
Old Parkonians 178-9
(Division Three)
DESPITE a spirited performance Old Parks found promotion-chasing Billericay too hot to handle as they slumped to a nine-wicket defeat at the Toby Howe Ground.
The visitors opened the batting and were indebted to Paul Robbins, who hit a fine 76 which enabled them to total 178 and gain six batting points.
Despite some defensive batting displays Gary Hynes took three wickets, Adam Marchant and Greg Hammond a brace each and Stuart Hynes and Martin Guilbert one apiece.
But that total was always going to be difficult to defend, and Stuart Roberts (104*) led the run chase, with Guilbert (40*) and Paul Southgate (24) chipping in as the hosts wrapped up a comfortable win.
