Harlow 53-a/o
Walthamstow 165-a/o

(Division Two)

THE prolific Andy Fernandes helped Walthamstow maintain their late promotion push as the E17 boys left Harlow red-faced by skittling them out for just 58.

Fernandes followed on from his eight-wicket haul from a fortnight ago, as he took care of seven more victims on Saturday to take his season’s tally up to 34.

Prior to that, the Stow all-rounder also top scored for the visitors with a fine knock of 51, but other than a useful 48 by Asif Bala there was little in the way of support as the visitors crashed all out for 165.

The twin-attack of Nilesh Odedra and Tom Worthington did the bulk of the damage as they took three wickets each.

Clearly confident of ending Walthamstow’s recent unbeaten run, the Marigolds Men proved too over confident with the bat and once Fernandes and Greg Harris (3-20) went to work, Harlow had nobody in their batting armoury to live with the pair.

This was Stow’s fifth straight win and eighth game unbeaten, as they remain hot on the heels of top two Fives and Loughton going into the final three games of the season.
