IN response to Vibha Munbodh complaining that while she got a fine for parking on the pavement the council’s own car was parked in a cycle lane on a yellow line (Guardian August 14), the advice is simple.
Stop worrying about where the CCTV car is and think about where you are parking your own car.
Cracked pavements caused by vehicles cost the council thousands of pounds every year to repair while also causing traffic delay.
The council passes this cost on to me and you (the taxpayer), so I'm glad you got a ticket for being thoughtless and selfish. Why do you expect to get away with it when most other motorists observe the rules of the road? Next time, do what I do -park in a legal spot, keep off the kerbs and walk.
