TWENTY years ago, on August 2, my son, Peter, married and ten days later emigrated to Australia with his Australian wife. The Gazette, as it was then, printed a photograph and a write up of them.
They are coming back to England for a six-week visit in September for the first time in that 20 years with their two children. Peter is very keen to catch up with two friends from the past that I have been unable to trace so far and hope the Guardian can help to re-unite him with them.
I am looking for any information on Richard Harrington, who lived in Loughton, and went to St John’s School, in Epping, with Peter. They continued to be friends for many years Also John Meehan, who lived in Ilford but worked with Peter at the Bank of England printing works, at Debden.
I can be reached on 01992 812688 or by email at birdhouse@uwclub.net Pat Anstiss (by email).
