ALTHOUGH rising house prices may be the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ for some (Guardian, August 14), that is certainly not the case for many, many other people in London like me.

As someone who has lived all my life in Woodford Wells, growing up with my mum, dad and brother, I have always enjoyed living here and would very much like to continue doing so.

However, I am now 26 years-old and feel it really is time for me to move out and get my own place, I can’t go on living with my aging parents.

So for me, the lower house prices in Woodford are the better.

How else can first-time buyers like me ever get on the property ladder when prices are so high?

Why would I want to go anywhere else?

I love this town, it’s perfect for commuting and going out in central London, but I fear that unless prices drop further I will be forced to find a home in a less desirable part of London.

So I think you should be more balanced and recognise that low house prices are good for a lot of people, and aren’t necessarily something to be disappointed by.
