POLICE are appealing for information about an alleged assault outside a Theydon Bois pub.
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at The Railway Arms, in Coppice Row, on Saturday evening.
Neighbouring residents looked on as the pub's car park was taped off while officers carried out a search.
An Essex Police spokesman said details are limited at present, but it is thought to have been a "physical assault" which happened after 6pm.
He added that many pub customers were drunk and reports were "confused".
Epping Police Sergeant Ed Mayo confirmed: "We are investigating an allegation of assault in the vicinity of the pub car park on Saturday night."
Witnesses should ring Sgt Mayo at Epping Police Station on 0300 333 4444.
The incident follows concerns from residents about an increase in alcohol-related disturbances in the area.
