THE headquarters of Sir Alan Sugar’s business empire is moving to Loughton, the Guardian can reveal.

Sir Alan Sugar’s son, Daniel, confirmed that the "entire" business, which currently has its headquarters in Brentwood, will be making the move.

The company will occupy office accommodation at Sterling House, in Langston Road – close to the Bank of England Printing works.

Daniel told the Epping Forest Guardian: “It will involve the entire organisation. We like the area. There are a lot of new businesses going down there.”

He would not put a figure on the number of staff who would be making the move, nor would he comment on what would be happening to the company’s current Brentwood offices.

However Mr Sugar said he expected the move - which will mean a base much closer to home for Sir Alan, who lives in Chigwell - would happen “within the next month or so”.

Daniel Sugar would not be drawn on whether Lee McQueen, who was chosen by Sir Alan to be the winner of the fourth and most recent series of the BBC’s The Apprentice programme, would be among the staff moving in.

It is understood McQueen is heading a new business venture for Sir Alan, which will specialise in providing digital screens for the outdoor market.

Sir Alan Sugar is ranked 92nd in the latest edition of the Sunday Times Rich List, with an estimated fortune of £830m.

The move means Langston Road will be the business ‘home’ to two of the district’s richest men. Next door to Sterling House is the headquarters of Clinton Cards, whose chairman Don Lewin is worth £139m, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
