A MAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a multiple pile-up on the A414 near Ongar.
A police spokesman said “a number of vehicles struck each other” in the incident which happened near the Bobbingworth Mill turning shortly before 11am this morning.
The injured man was airlifted to Queens Hospital, in Romford.
His condition is not known.
The road was closed for some time as emergency services dealt with the incident.
