FIRE crews are dealing with a blaze at the Glaxo SmithKline premises in Harlow.
Five teams of firefighters, from Harlow, Old Harlow and Waltham Abbey, were called to the company’s north site in Cold Harbour Road, The Pinnacles, shortly after 1pm today and found the area heavily smokelogged following a fire which broke out in an incinerator.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are tackling a fire in a primary incinerator area of the Glaxo SmithKline plant. Five appliances, the pre-determined attendance for this risk, were sent to tackle the incident. At 13:23 hrs, crews report the area involved is heavily smoke logged.
A specialist officer trained in dealing with chemical incidents is en route to the scene, a fire service spokesman said.
