SWIMMING is resuming at Stewards School, in Harlow, following an extensive refurbishment programme funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
Stewards pupils will now be able to enjoy swimming as part of their PE curriculum with the facilities also available free of charge to 12 other local primary, special and secondary schools during the school day.
A number of community swimming groups are looking forward to returning to Stewards. Swimming lesson courses are bookable for all abilities and all age groups from five years upwards.
Other sessions and activities will be introduced in due course in response to public demand, for example water aerobics, disabled swimmers, 50-plus.
The school has thanked Neil Mann (Stewards pPool and lettings manager) and his team of swimming instructors and lifeguards who have worked for the last two years to continue to provide swimming lessons to the school's client base using other locations around the town. The pool will be officially reopened on Tuesday (October 7).
Courses begin on Wednesday, October 8, for clients who have already paid. All enquiries regarding lessons should be directed to Stewards Pool on 01279 772521 (there is a voicemail box where you can leave messages if the office is unmanned).
