BAFFLED police have still not arrested anyone in connection with a sickening assault on shop staff, despite the incident being captured clearly on camera.

Three workers were attacked by a gang of teenagers wielding knives, sticks and belts as they locked up the Gazi International Supermarket in Walthamstow.

Footage taken from the shop's security cameras clearly show the gang attacking the terrified trio, including a blue-hooded teenager stabbing two of the victims in the head.

But despite the images, a police spokeswoman said: "We have not got any suspects and we don't know the reason for the assault."

The three victims, a 43-year-old woman, a 43-year-old man and a 36-year-old man escaped serious injury.

The woman, who did not wish to be named, believes the police are not interested in finding the culprits.

She said: "All the local people have been coming in and asking us if we are okay, everybody knows these are local boys.

"This is bad for the area, these boys could do this again to somebody else."

The police spokeswoman denied the allegation investigators are not committed to finding the assailants.

She said: "The police are investigating it thoroughly, but it is not as easy as picking out people on the street and arresting them.

"We are appealing for anybody who can help to come forward."

The incident happened at 9.18pm on September 20.
