A WOMAN was stabbed outside a nightclub in Walthamstow in the early hours of this morning.

The 26-year-old was stabbed in Falmer Road at about 4.20am. She was carried back to the Cavern Bar, in Forest Road, where she had been drinking, by a passerby.

It is believed she had also been to the Bell public house in Forest Road.

She was taken to hospital suffering from stab wounds and it is believed she is now in a stable condition.

A Waltham Forest Police spokesman said: “An open mind is being kept as regards a motive and enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

“Detectives are appealing for anyone that may have been in and around the Cavern Bar/Falmer Road area at the time of the incident to contact them and assist with their enquiries.”

Detectives from Waltham Forest CID are investigating.

No description of the attacker has been issued by the police and there have been no arrests.
