A BABY escaped a road crash without injury after a car collided with railings and flipped onto its roof.

The 34-year-old female driver of the car was trapped and had to be cut out of the care by a fire rescue team. But the baby had been removed beforehand by an ambulance crew and was given the all-clear.

The crash happened in Bush Road, Leytonstone, just after 9.30am this morning.

Emergency services were called to reports that a car had collided with some street furniture.

The woman had a hand injury and was taken as a priority by London Ambulance to Royal London Hospital, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The scene of the crash has now been cleared.
