AN INCREASE in redundancies and debt problems has seen the district's Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) service awarded a £40,000 Government windfall to extend its opening hours.

The funding will allow branches at 50a Hemnall Street in Epping, at St Mary's Parish Centre in High Road, Loughton, and at the Town Hall in Highbridge Road, Waltham Abbey, to open an additional 15 hours every week until March 2010.

Julia Milovanovic, manager of Epping Forest CAB service, said: "As people are struggling to make ends meet at a time of increasing uncertainty about jobs, access to reliable, free and independent advice has never been more vital."

Details of the new opening hours are available by logging-on to www.efcab.org.uk, or by calling the Epping branch on 01992 574989, the Loughton branch on 0208 5020031, or the Waltham Abbey branch on 01992 710353.
