Traffic chaos hit this area today after a bad road smash
MAJOR traffic jams are being reported across Wanstead and Leytonstone after a 'serious' crash between a lorry and a car.
One man was rushed to hospital following the smash, which happened just after midday on the A12 in Wanstead between Royston Gardens and Preston Drive.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The two vehicles involved in the crash, a white tipper Scania and a Ford Transit dropside lorry, have been removed from the scene and traffic is beginning to flow again in the area.
However delays are still reported on Leytonstone High Road, The Green Man roundabout, the A406, the A114 Whipps Cross Road and other streets in the surrounding area.
The 66 and 145 bus routes have also been affected.
