(Echo League U13s)

This midweek fixture brought the very best out of Wadham as they secured Runner up position and promotion in the Echo League U13's Division.

Wadham started tentatively as the home side went close twice as Joe C saved well and then missed an open goal, but not before Bryan B brought an excellent save at the other end.

Midway through the half the first important goal was scored from a Marcelo T-M half volley. Both Srinivass B and Charlie C were a colossus at the back ably assisted by Thomas H, James D and keeper Joe C.

Some more of the same after the break as Wadham extended their lead through Cameron F-N. Kerim found Jack C out wide and his run and cross found Cameron unmarked to score.

A lovely move involving Charlie C and Robert R found Marcelo whose shot was parried by the home keeper for Bryan B to sneak in and score.

Both Bryan and Jack C worked tirelessly for the team and Jack C could have completed a great night but his screamer hit the bar.

The final whistle went to applause and celebrations as Wadham end the season as Runners-up and join Jays B to promotion from the Echo League D Division.

Tributes and congratulations must be made to Manager Paul Draper, assistant Juan Rangel, Lorraine Draper and the Boys for a great achievement. A lot of hard work during pre-season has paid dividends and the parents would like to extend their congratulations to Wadham FC Squad: Joe C, Thomas H, James D, Kerim A, Charlie C, Srinivass B, Jamie G, Goksal R, Bryan B, Robert R, Jack D, Jack C, Cameron F-N, Marcelo T-M, Jack S, James W, Callum O

Bardag 5

(Echo League U13s) The penultimate match of the season saw Wadham's excellent run come to an almighty thump.

Having secured promotion earlier in the week Wadham came into the game full of confidence but were quickly on the back foot by a well organised Bardag outfit who were fortunate with their first goal when a cross was parried over the line by the home keeper.

Wadham equalised when Jack C unleashed an unstoppable shot from just outside the box. Bardag soon restored their lead when the forward pinched the ball from the feet of defender Srinivass B to find the bottom corner.

Wadham pressed for an equaliser in the second half and nearly came up trumps when a move involving James D, Jamie G and Marcelo T-M found Jack C who shot over. After that it was one way traffic as the home side were caught out on two separate occasions with through balls down the middle and a cross-shot as the visitors ran out convincing winners, but this did not spoil the promotion party that followed after the game.

Elsewhere, Wadham U8s completed the season with MOM Brandon Z outstanding as Rayan C scored twice, his first from a William H throw finding Ross W whose pass found Rayan who rounded the keeper to score.

His second was a header from a Jamie B corner. Brandon had a couple of chances to score and was involved in the third with Shiloh R whose shot was parried by the visiting keeper for James C to tap in.

Squad: Matthew M, Conor M, William H, Ross W, Brandon Z, Rayan C, Jamie B, Daniel P, James C, Shiloh R.

Wadham U9s had a creditable draw at Romford Colts A 0-0 with Dante M MOM.
