A DRIVER had a lucky escape when his car veered off a busy road and into a tree.

The silver Mitsubishi Colt was travelling down Broadmead Road, Woodford Green, at around 3pm yesterday when he lost control and slammed into the broad oak.

Ilford Police Inspector Martin Allen said: "At 3.06pm police were called to a road traffic collision in Broadmead Road, Woodford Green, where a vehicle had collided with a tree.

"The driver of the vehicle was located and the vehicle removed. No injuries were sustained by any person and no other vehicles were involved.

"The exact cause of the collision is currently being investigated, there are no criminal offences appparent at this time"

Lost control? If the victim of this crash cannot drive in the carriageway maybe he should be obliged to re-take his driving test before being allowed on the roads again.

i believe the sensible thing here is to , have at least 15 chicanes every 10 metres , and speed humps every other 5 metres, plus another 6 sets of traffic lights and maybe a set of width restrictions too

Typical as this is car crime so to speak look in the back ground two plastic police officers. had it been a real crime they would of taken 48 hours to turn up. Freah Gravee love the comment made me chuckle loads
