AN ELDERLY couple due to celebrate their Diamond Wedding Anniversary are offering a reward for the return of sentimental jewellery they lost in Woodford Green.

Derek and Joyce Hall, both 83, have been frantically searching the streets around their home after a diamond engagement ring, a gold watch that was a wedding present, and two other rings dropped from Mrs Hall's pocket as she was getting in a car.

The valuables were lost about two weeks ago in the Woodford High Road cul-de-sac opposite Bancroft's School.

After hearing nothing from the police, the couple, who have been together since school and will celebrate their Diamond Wedding Anniversary next summer, turned to the Guardian in a bid to recover the treasures.

Mr Hall said: It's not the monetary value but the sentimental value as I know Joyce feels lost without them.

“We have tried everything we can think of to get them back and I've even been round all the jewellers to see if anyone had bought the rings in for resizing.

“Nowadays unfortunately a lot of people don't want to go to the police so I just thought if someone had come across them or new something they could contact the Guardian instead.

“We would be so pleased to get them back.”

The gold engagement ring has a diamond cluster with a central zircon stone and the watch has a gold, three-strand chain strap.

Another gold diamond cluster ring was lost along with an eight-stone half eternity ring.
