BARKING, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust will pay millions of pounds in damages after a dad-of-two was left disabled following treatment at King George Hospital.
Michael Spence has been paralysed from the waist down after a series of hospital blunders five years ago.
Mr Spence, 29, broke his back in a car smash after undoing his seat-belt for a split-second to tend to his 18-month-old son while his partner was driving.
The former carpenter, from Stratford, was hurled backwards through the windscreen on High Road, Chadwell Heath.
After a High Court hearing, Baking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals NHS Trust have agreed to pay 80 per cent of the £2 -3million pay out to Mr Spence, who also suffers from depression and severe panic attacks.
