The incident followed an argument between two men at 2.15am today in Abbots Park Road, Leyton, when two further men became involved.

Twenty minutes later, armed officers stopped the car in Elmore Road.

Then at 3.45am another car was stopped by police in Langthorne Road, Leytonstone.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and is in custody at an east London police station.
