POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a vicious assault which left a man with serious injuries.
The victim was attacked near Tercel Path, Chigwell, at 10pm on Wednesday, July 16.
He was struck across the back of the head and suffered severe injuries to his face. Police later found the victim in Yellow Pine Way and he was taken to hospital.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He has been bailed pending further enquiries until August 27.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may of seen the altercation either in Tercel Path or Yellow Pine Way. Both the attacker and his victim are black.
