THE organisation which manages the council's housing stock has installed its first solar panels on a Walthamstow home.

Ascham Homes has installed panels on the home, in Fyfield Road, which, it says, will generate enough electricity to heat water for the five-bedroom house.

Marie Aremola, Ascham Homes energy co-ordinator said: “By installing these solar panels, not only are we helping the residents to save money on their bills, but we are also reducing carbon emissions within the borough.

“This is definitely a win for all concerned.”

The project was funded through the council's Decent Homes programme and by a Government grant.
