A PAIR of disabled brothers had their dreams come true this weekend, thanks to the Dream Factory.

Anthony and Christopher Surridge, 17 and 16, who both suffer from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, were given the chance to meet idols Lewis Hamilton and Patsy Palmer.

The brothers, of Chigwell Row, were taken on a tour of the McLaren Technology Centre along with their family on Saturday, followed by a special visit from Patsy Palmer on Sunday.

Racing fan Anthony was able to meet F1 hero Lewis Hamilton and Christopher rubbed shoulders with Eastenders actress Ms Palmer at the family home.

Dad Melvin Surridge, 49, said: “We went to Woking to meet Lewis Hamilton – that was a very enjoyable afternoon.

“On Sunday, Patsy Palmer dropped in to see us and Christopher was absolutely over the moon.”

Ms Palmer plays Christopher's favourite character, Bianca, in the long-running BBC soap.

Sister Tasha, who is not disabled, came along to meet Lewis Hamilton but missed Patsy Palmer's visit, Mr Surridge added.

Avril Mills, founder of the Dream Factory, said: “Christopher had 22 questions to ask Patsy and she gave him lots of kisses and hugs.”

Mr Surridge gave up his job four years ago to care for the boys full time and said the family gets little respite.

He said: “I can't really put it into words – seeing their faces light up was just brilliant.”

Both boys, who are wheelchair-bound, attend Oak View School in Loughton and need constant care.
