A DEFENCE of modern buildings will be made by a leading architect at a debate in South Woodford.

Between Heritage and the Bulldozer is the title of the event at the Woodford Memorial Hall where Dr William Fawcett RIBA of Cambridge University will be asking his audience to judge buildings on their merit, rather than their age.

The event at 7.45pm on Monday, October 5, will be staged as part of the Woodford Festival and all proceeds will go towards the memorial hall appeal fund.

Tickets which cost £6 and include light refreshments are available from Barbara Slaney on 8505 3352, or on the door.
