THE skies are set to come alive with the sound of fighter jets this weekend at a community event at North Weald Airfield.
It's Time To Scramble on September 13 will be supporting the Royal Air Force Association's 2009 Battle of Britain Wings Appeal and is set to be an enjoyable day with fun things to do for the whole family.
Gates open at 9am and tickets cost £3 for adults and £2 for under 12's and over 60's.
A free bus service will run from outside the airfield museum in Hurricane Way.
A wide variety of planes will be on display including the supersonic fighters which take to the sky at 10am.
There will also be a bouncy castle, Essex Police helicopter, vintage cars and a Second World War re-enactment group to entertain the crowds.
