AN ANNUAL event to make a difference in the community is being held to support a centre which helps young people build a future.

Make A Difference Day (MADD) is a national campaign to promote volunteering and this year the Volunteer Centre Epping Forest is organising an event at the Lambourne End Outdoor Centre.

Families or individuals can attend to help prepare for their Big Bonfire Party.

The charity helps children from inner London and the Home Counties, some of the whom have never experienced a rural setting or farm animals, and provides them with personal development experiences.

The Big Bonfire Party will be held on November 7 to raise funds for the centre and volunteers will help prepare for the day by erecting tents, setting up a spooky trail, decorating, making glass lanterns and constructing a willow figure that will be the center piece of the bonfire.

The centre has offered volunteers two for one vouchers to the party and will provide a barbecue lunch on the day.

For more information in joining the volunteer team on October 30 contact Allie Neal on 01992 564256 or email aneal@vaef.org.uk by Friday October 23.
