PLANS for a pie and mash shop in High Road, North Weald, have been thrown out, under the pressure of local objections.
The application for the antiques shop on the corner of Bassett Gardens was scuppered because of the loss of a valuable retail outlet, the increased traffic the shop would cause and detriment to neighbouring residential properties.
Four letters of objection were received by Epping Forest Council, with North Weald Bassett and District Rural Preservation Society raising concerns about food smells, litter, limited parking facilities and the intended hours of operation.
