THE Football Association is set to announce the findings of its investigation into the violence at last month’s cup tie between West Ham and Millwall.

Violence erupted when fans broke through a police cordon at Upton Park station and supporters invaded the pitch during the game.

A 43-year-old Millwall supporter was stabbed after he and his family were chased when they went to the wrong entrance of the ground.

He has since recovered from his injuries.

The FA has said it will impose life-time bans on fans identified as trouble makers.

A statement said: “The FA's extensive investigation into the events at the recent West Ham versus Millwall fixture are drawing to a close.

“CCTV footage from approximately 47 cameras inside Upton Park is still being examined along with other lines of enquiry.

“Both clubs have co-operated and provided assistance in relation to the enquiry and the FA expects to be in a position to confirm the outcome of the investigation in the coming week.

“The FA has also been liaising closely with the Metropolitan Police in connection with the disorder outside the ground, whilst West Ham published photographs in Saturday's matchday programme to assist in the identification process.”
