THERE will be singing and dancing at a Leyton nursery to celebrate Black History Month.

Youngsters will also hold up letters spelling out the words 'black history,' with each letter standing for a different element relevant to the celebration.

There will also be traditional African dancing by members of staff and pupils at Bright Kids nursery in Marshall Road, near Leyton Mills shopping centre.

Visitors, which include council leader Chris Robbins and mayor Anna Mbachu, will also be tempted by delicious Caribbean food available at the event.

Amanda O'Brien, 34, assistant nursery manager, said: “Everyone is looking forward to celebrating Black History Month and a lot of hard work has been put into I hope is a great celebration.”

Parents and pupils are all welcome at the event which starts at 5.30pm on Friday, October 30.
