MEMBERS of the Communication Workers' Union (CWU) are set to picket post offices in Walthamstow tomorrow in a fresh round of postal strikes.
Picketers will gather from 5.30am onwards to show solidarity in the ongoing dispute between Royal Mail and its staff over modernisation of the service.
They are set to be supported by the Waltham Forest Trades Council.
The action is planned for tomorrow and Monday and could be even more disruptive than previous walkouts as it is set to be an 'all-out' strike.
However, the strikes could be avoided as a possible deal is rumoured to have been tabled today.
Staff walked out over job cuts and changes to pay and conditions in the largest-scale postal strike since the 2007 action.
Representatives of the CWU in east London have apologised for any inconvenience caused up to now but no agreement has yet officially been reached.
