A MAN has admitted stabbing West Ham player Calum Davenport during an attack in Bedfordshire.
Worrell Whitehurst, 25, of Finsley Walk, Derby, pleaded guilty at Luton Crown Court to stabbing Mr Davenport in the legs, leaving him with a 15-inch scar.
Mr Davenport, 26, needed surgery after the attack, which happened at his mother's home in Kempston on 22 August.
Whitehurst, who is the boyfriend of Mr Davenport's sister, also admitted unlawfully wounding the footballer's mother, Kim Stupple, 49.
Whitehurst faces a hefty prison sentence, Judge John Bevan QC told the court.
Mr Davenport has recently returned to light training after surgery.
