We revealed how a serial sex offender who attacked nearly 30 women in Wandsworth was convicted of rape and sexual assault.

Kirk Reid, 44, used to sneak up on victims in the street before restraining them and attempting to feel their genitals.

He struck 27 times in the Balham, Tooting, Battersea areas between 2001 and 2007, almost always at night.

Many of the women taken the 344 or N155 buses home and were attacked while walking to their doors.

We also revealed how Wandsworth freediver Sara Campbell shattered the world record for diving 96m (314ft) below the surface of the ocean on a single breath.

Sara spent three minutes and 36 seconds under the water in the Vertical Blue competition in the Bahamas on April 2.

The depth Sara dived to last week was the equivalent of the height of Big Ben’s clock tower.

April was also the month that Springfield Hospital’s new interim boss broke her silence and revealed her own battle with depression.

Judy Wilson told the Wandsworth Guardian she was in her 40s when she finally had the courage to tick the mental health problems box on a job application form.

“For many years I didn’t tell my employers because of the stigma,” she said. “But I felt I’d put my money where my mouth was, and stand up and be counted.”
