POLICE and council officers are currently removing counterfeit goods from Walthamstow market stalls.
An operation, run jointly with the council, the Met and Trade Mark representatives, is today targeting clothes, bags, shoes and other trademarked items.
A council spokesman said: “The operation aims to remove counterfeit goods from circulation in the run-up to Christmas and ahead of the Boxing Day sales which are traditionally the time of year when millions of people hit the streets looking for a bargain.”
