A FIRE which partially damaged a car showroom is being investigated by police as a suspected arson attempt.
The Christmas Day blaze took place at 330 Lea Bridge Road, Leyton – a building containing three businesses, Angels' Car Wash, M & A Executive Cars and UK tyres.
The fire took hold at about 10.30pm and fire crews took nearly two hours to bring it under control.
A London Fire Brigade (LFB) spokesman said: “Part of the showroom was damaged by the fire.
“A lorry was partly destroyed and two cars were badly damaged by the blaze.”
Investigators have concluded the fire originated in two places, leading to suspicions of arson.
The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
