THE ILLUSTRATED history of the capital will be explored at a fascinating meeting later this month.

Members of the Wanstead Historical Society and the general public can enjoy 'London Through Artists' Eyes', which will be given by Jeff Page, on January 21.

Jeff will give an illustrated lecture on how artists artists such as Canaletto, Hogarth and Walter Sickert have depicted the city, from scenes of the rich and famous in high society to the underbelly of Victorian times.

The talk will take place from 8pm to 9.30pm at Warren Hall (behind the Methodist Church), in Cambridge Park, Wanstead.
