WANSTEAD: Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle's cat takes up residence with pensioner

A CAT belonging to Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle has taken up temporary residence in Wanstead while her famous owner performs around the globe.

Pebbles is currently being looked after by kind-hearted pensioner Pamela Eaton-Browne at her home near Wanstead High Street.

The 11-year-old Turkish swimming cat is thought to have moved in with the retired accountant last July after neighbour Alex Kadis - who works for Ms Boyle's management team - asked her to look after it.

The singer is reported to have visited Pebbles at the flat on three occasions.

Ms Eaton-Browne, who is in her 70s, said she has been shocked by the intense media interest in the cat's arrival.

She said: "I'm being constantly contacted by newspapers about this. It's been very upsetting.

"I had no idea this would cause so much fuss.

"Some of the things that have been written in the papers are rubbish. They say (Ms Boyle) dumped (Pebbles) on me, but that's simply not true.

"(The cat's) absolutely fine. She's sitting on my bed."

Ms Eaton Browne said she had turned down large sums of money from newspapers for pictures of Pebbles.

She said: "I just want to be left alone."

A neighbour of Ms Eaton-Browne, who did not want to be named, said Pebbles is in good hands.

He said: "The cat is probably as comfortable as it's ever been."

Susan Boyle, nicknamed 'SuBo' by the media, shot to fame when she first appeared on the hit TV reality show in April 2009 singing 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Misérables.

'Wild Horses' the first single taken from the singer's debut album 'I dreamed a Dream' became one of the biggest selling songs of 2009.

Hey fellow Susan Boyle fans. Can't you see you're being misled a bit here guys?
On her official website they've suddenly posted this revisionist message: "As fans will know, Susan has often said when asked about her cat, ‘Pebbles is very well and being looked after by a lovely lady in London’."
That has never been said before! Her publicity people are only saying that because the Daily Mirror in London have exposed the truth - that Susan has only had contact with Pebbles three times since last July.
Before that, Susan's people were pumping out untrue stories - often spreads in the Daily Mail - about how close Susan was to Pebbles, how she couldn't bear to be apart from her cat. And they had the cheek to create a clothing line based around Pebbles - the cat she hardly ever sees.
And no press reports claimed that Susan had abandoned Pebbles. The story simply pointed out that she hardly has any contact with Pebbles.
And the friend Pamela did not wish to remain anonoymous as Susan's official website claims - in fact she chose to do a full interview in
the newspaper. You can see a more full version if you search for the Daily Record version.
I love Susan as much as all of you, but don't be misled like this by her publicity machine - they have been caught out telling white lies to fans here for quite some time in order to get publicity with fake stories about the cat and make money from the fashion range, and I'm glad this story exposed the truth.
