MATHS with a material difference equalled fun squared for children at the end of a primary school project.
Epping Upland Primary School, in Carters Lane, Epping Green, has finished its community project which involved parents, residents, and other school figures creating 100 different pieces for an embroidered square.
The finished piece, designed to show the link between maths and art, was unveiled at a special ceremony at the school involving its pupils and invited guests.
After the unveiling, pupils and parents celebrated with a slice of cake.
Class teacher Claire Layer said: “The project was to make a 100 square from a range of different materials and methods. It grew from a desire to strengthen ties between the school and the local community while at the same time creating a lasting work or art that shows the link that maths can have with all areas of the curriculum.”
