WANSTEAD: Car fire hits rush hour traffic

RUSH hour commuters are facing delays to their journeys on one of the area's busiest routes this evening, after an earlier vehicle fire.

Traffic is being held up along the A12 Eastern Avenue in Wanstead following the incident, after police closed one lane of the road between Preston Drive (George Green Tunnel) and the A406 North Circular (Redbridge Roundabout).

The fire has been put out but the emergency services are still on the scene. Cars are tailing back to A11 High Street (Bow Interchange).

More to follow.
