CARERS across Redbridge are set to be offered special health checks as part of a new scheme being piloted in the borough.
The Caring for Carers project will benefit up to 600 residents who provide unpaid care and support for a loved one.
The 13-month-long scheme - which started last week - aims to address all aspects of the carer's health needs, including developing individual health action plans and helping them to access the right services.
To be eligible for the project applicants must live in the borough, provide unpaid care for someone who is deemed to be at high risk of hospital admission, and be registered with a Redbridge GP.
Carers can also refer someone else for this service, with their consent.
For more information call Redbridge Carers Support Service on: 8822 4053, or email: caring4carers@redbridge.nhs.uk.
