GREEN-FINGERED residents will soon be able to recycle their garden waste thanks to a new council initiative.
Redbridge Council is giving residents across the borough 'Big Green Bags' in which to put their garden waste by the end of March, following a successful trial at the end of last year.
The green bags are around four times the size of a conventional waste bag and are designed to be sturdy enough to last for several years.
The council is also increasing collection to homes around Redbridge, and from March to October there is no need for residents to book their waste collections.
Instead, they can just take a bag out to the street outside their home before 7am on the day after the usual waste and recycling collections.
