REDBRIDGE is facing rising levels of obesity and is outstripping the rest of the capital, health bosses have warned.
The borough now has 19.6 percent of the population dangerously overweight, compared to the London average of 18.4 percent.
NHS Redbridge said say that this is being worsened by low levels of exercise among increasingly overweight residents.
Just 19.1 percent of adults do the recommended 30 minutes of moderate exercise five times a week, which puts the borough in the bottom quarter of local authorities in England.
The government has sought to change people's sedentary lifestyle, and address the health problems that can come as a result, with it's much-publicised Change 4 Life campaign, which offers advice to people looking to slim down and get fit.
