A FIREMAN'S hose, a road sign and a bow tie were just some of the thousands of items uncovered during a big clean up outside a school.
Pupils rolled up their sleeves alongside parents and local residents to take part in the litter pick in the woodland surrounding Forest School, in College Place, Snaresbrook.
Around 5,500 pieces of rubbish were picked up during the event on Saturday, March 13, which was held as part of Environment Week.
All of those involved were rewarded for their efforts when they joined the school's warden for a well deserved lunch.
