THE LIGHTS are set to go out at Ilford Town Hall as part of a worldwide environmental campaign.
Redbridge Council will be doing its bit to help tackle climate change by taking part in Earth Hour - during which bulbs across the globe will be switched off.
The 60 minute event, which starts at 8.30pm on Saturday, March 27, aims to demonstrate that the problem can be addressed through collective action and is set to involve millions of people - with UK landmarks taking part including Piccadilly Circus, the Royal Albert Hall and the London Eye.
The council is calling on Redbridge residents and businesses to take part in the scheme and switch off their lights for the hour too.
