STYLISTS at a leading hair salon have reached the latter stages of a major hairdressing competition.

Uppercut, in Cranbrook Road, Gants Hill, will send Kate Masik, 24, and Toni Smith, 22, to the finals of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy, which receives well over 1,000 entries from salons up and down the country each year.

The final will take place at the Grosvenor House Ballroom in Park Lane next month.

The salon's artistic director Trevor Vale said: “I'm so proud of my team. We have always been focussed on creativity with our cutting and colour techniques and we are selective with the models we use.

“This year we're even more determined and will be making every effort to bring the trophy back.”
