Pupils' choice raises charity cash

PUPILS at Coopersale Hall School, Epping, helped raise £1,710 from a fundraising event for the tsunami disaster appeal.

The children chose how to raise the money either non-uniform clothes, shoes and coats, mad' hair or no homework and paid £1 to take part in as many of the ideas as they wanted, up to a maximum of £5.

Photographs of the pupils with their mad' hair were available for sale, to help boost the funds raised.

The school has linked up with an organisation in Sri Lanka which is enlarging a children's home to take another 50 orphaned children as well as re-equipping a school for disabled children.
