BUSINESS Affairs, a farcical comedy, is extremely funny and immensely entertaining, particularly with the quality of performance on view courtesy of CROADS.

Victory Hall was awash with tearful laughter at the antics of the well chosen cast.

I wasn't too sure about the accents but no matter, this was a light-hearted event which lifted the spirits well away from the doom and gloom of current times.

Briefly, haulage contractors from the North move down to London to facilitate the sale of their ailing business to European entrepreneurs Kurt and Sven.

As entertainment for the prospective buyers two high class ladies of the night are hired and all seems to be well until wives arrive, but the Ladies do not.

The wives take over and horror of horrors the Ladies arrive. No need to enlarge further on the chaos that reigns for the parties involved.

Nicholas Turner a master of this type of comedy, was joined by Derek Wright who proved another diamond who glistened.

The timing, actions and delivery were faultless.

Debbie Turner and Karen Oldroyd-Jones equalles their wayward husbands as they played along with the situation.

It was left to Stuart Smith and Rick Price to add fuel to the fire as they played the prospective purchasers in style changing appetites for the wives and the Ladies.

The latter couple, Emma Shadrack and Kirsty Pavett, presented themselves in almost every luscious pose imaginable. In a luxurious setting this was a well paced quality production, directed by Jennifer Witchell.

An early announcement tells us that Sweet Charity is the choice for their musical show on April 5-8 in Victory Hall.
