A KARATE club is looking for new members.
Chingford Karate Club is based at Rush Croft School in Rushcroft Road and helped it succeed in its bid to become a specialist sports college.
Club instructor Rod Butler also helped in the 2012 Olympic Games bid and ran the Olympic torch through London last year and one former student, Daniel Jenkinson, was the 2004 Junior National Karate Champion.
Head teacher Patricia Cutler said: "I know that the club is keen to hear from local people interested in finding out more about karate and anyone wanting details should ring the club secretary on 0845 4303 007 or log on to www.shotokan-karate-england.co.uk."
The club will celebrate its 21st anniversary this year and will give all new beginners a free karate suit and belt.
Classes run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.15pm.
