A FILM by students at Leyton Sixth Form College will be shown to vulnerable young people across London by the charity ChildLine.

Movie-makers at Leyton Sixth Form College showed their film to MTV UK presenter Dave Berry.

The music television star visited the college in Essex Road to watch the ten minute short film, Dilemma!

Fifteen media students jointly wrote, produced and directed the film which explore the relationship dilemmas faced by young people.

Specialist advice was given to the group by representatives from ChildLine, the child protection charity, and Point Blank, a multi-media college.

Funding was also provided to the college by the Jack Petchey Foundation, with a cheque for £5,000.

ChildLine now aims to screen the film at pupil referral units across the capital to help young people who have behavioural issues find positive ways to handle life situations and develop their communication skills.

Jenny Parry, ChildLine's specialist development co-ordinator, said: "The young people at the college have been an inspiration to work with, and this film brings the relationship dilemmas that face many young people vividly to life.

"Helping teenagers negotiate the maze of forming friendships and relationships is vital in enabling them to fulfil their potential in life and the film is a great way to get young people talking about these important issues."
