A TOTAL of £524 was raised for Haven House children's hospice during a raffle at a memorial football match and free fun day on Monday.
The family of Walthamstow man Paul Day, who died after a car accident three years ago this month, organised the annual event at Leyton Football Club, Lea Bridge Road, where he played.
On previous occasions, the Days have collected money for the intensive care unit at Whipps Cross University Hospital, which cared for Paul before he died, and to set up a trust fund for his son, Lewis, now aged five.
This year's match was between the Paul Day XI and a team from Leyton FC. Leyton won 3-2.
Other entertainment at the game included food, refreshments and live entertainment with Kevin, the king of karaoke.
Ian and Chris Day wish to pass on their thanks to Cos Sophocleous, the chairman of Leyton FC, and all his staff and to everyone who turned up for the event.
